Nowadays, you don’t need to be a professional designer in order to achieve a fashionable look. People make sure to make an effort in styling their outfits for the day, whether it’s for a casual day-out with friends, a back-to-school ensemble, a glamorous evening event and even a striking corporate attire that command respect and awe. You’d be surprised by how looking good can have a positive influence on your outlook for the rest of the day, since it helps build your confidence as you express your independence and individuality in your wardrobe. In this modern society, the ‘me-generation’ continues to prevail, and an OOTD is just one of the many things we’d love to share in our daily feed. After all, who wouldn’t want to share something that they’re proud of?

The only issue lies in the fact that you lack the photographer to take your snaps for you, and forcing yourself to fit in a tiny, squared frame would just result in an awkward attempt in creating that seamless OOTD you’ve been dying to share. We’ve all been there, and it’s disappointing to have your results look subpar compared to what you’ve pictured in your head.

The good news is that it’s easier to achieve a picturesque OOTD than you think. Here are a few tips that can help you, because you deserve to share your chic style with the rest of the world!

  • DON’T MAKE IT BORING, ADD MOVEMENT

Showcasing your outfit can be a difficult thing if you feel awkward with yourself. Just like with film and photography, your audience can see right through whatever emotions you’ve captured – if you want your photos to feel effortless, then you have to show it. Adding movement to your photograph is just one of the many ways to display an exciting and chic look. Have some fun, loosen up and make us feel it through your stills!

  • EXPERIMENT WITH YOUR LIGHTING

You’ve heard this all before, but I never forget to emphasize the importance of knowing what kind of lighting works for your desired goal and style. Find the best natural lighting that will illuminate the right balance of highlights and shadows of your photo in order to add depth and create a dynamic OOTD.

  • BALANCE YOUR OUTFIT WITH AN INTERESTING BACKGROUND

Make your OOTD eye-catching by having an interesting background, but make sure that it complements your outfit. Your background should help you pop out and be the center of attention, so avoid anything too busy that might disrupt your look. If your outfit matches your background’s theme, whether in color or aura, then go ahead and grab the opportunity! Don’t let your inhibition get in the way of capturing that perfect OOTD.

  • EXPERIMENT WITH COLOR AND SHAPES WITH YOUR OUTFIT

Don’t be afraid to mix and match your style. Just be true to who you are and translate it through your look by tailoring your wardrobe with pieces that perfectly express what you want to say. Do you want a feminine look with a soft glow in your picture? Or a loud statement outfit to express your boldness? We can see a glimpse of your attitude through your guise, so wear it with authenticity and style.

  • AVOID SHOOTING AT ARM’S LENGTH, AND UNDERSTAND RULE OF THIRDS

An OOTD is different from a selfie – you want to properly showcase your outfit, but shooting it at arm’s length would result in a clumsy attempt and take away the light from your subject, which is how you carry your ensemble. You can solve this dilemma by asking a friend to take your picture. If all else fails, you can take a good OOTD by using a clean mirror. Make sure you understand and incorporate rule of thirds in your photos as well – the guide is there for a reason, and it’s to help you include more elements into your frame and achieve a well-composed photograph.

  • USE A GOOD CAMERA OR PHONE

If you want to take a crisp photo, you have to make sure that you’re also using the proper equipment for it. What’s the good news? You don’t need to invest in expensive lighting equipment or a professional photographer’s camera to be able to shoot your OOTD.

I’m using OPPO F1s to share the desired display image I want for my OOTD’s, and with its 13-megapixel camera, you can expect to have the quality we’re all aiming for. With the help of these simple tips and a trusted brand, you deserve to share your chic style with the rest of the world!
