Getting tired of playing Pokemon Go? Fancy a retro Pokemon game on your Apple Watch?

A new Game Boy emulator has landed for the Apple Watch that will allow you to play a full-pledge functioning Pokemon Yellow on your wrist.

Gabriel O’Flaherty-Chan, an iOS software developer, began developing his Game Boy emulator for Apple’s first wearable device a few months ago because of his disappointment on the current game library for the Apple Watch. Check the game out:

Now, he has released his emulator dubbed as Giovanni in reference to the leader of the infamous Team Rocket, on Github. The developer also included GIFs and photos of the game in action. He also wrote a post regarding the current issues and bugs that he’ll fix eventually.

He stated, “One of the big challenges was to find the right balance between framerate and performance. As you can see, it’s a bit sluggish and unresponsive, but as a prototype, I think it answers the question of ‘is this possible?'”

Giovanni is an open-source project and developer Gabriel is open to working with other developers to make the emulator even simpler for Apple Watch users.

We hope to play this as soon as possible as Pokemon Go is getting a bit boring albeit released a huge update a couple of weeks ago.
