If we are going to talk about backwards compatibility between the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, the video game console from Microsoft wins by a long shot. But that doesn’t mean that Sony is slouching. Titles like Max Payne, Manhunt and Bully made it to the PS4. Those titles are nice, but we need to have these 5 make it to Sony’s latest console.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
One of the best games of the PlayStation 2. Prince of Persia feels like a Devil May Cry version of the Tomb Raider — intense fight scenes combined with some mind-blowing puzzles. Even in an old console, it still looks fantastic and features responsive controls.
It truly gives an original game mechanic, good story and numerous thrilling adventure and by giving it a remastered version for the PlayStation 4 would give everyone that fun nostalgic feelings.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
Ah, skateboarding. Remember when it was a cultural phenomenon during the 90s and early 2000s? Heck, I even tried to ride a skateboard. I was so influenced by the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series.
The first two titles started on the PS1 but the most memorable was the 3rd installment on the PS2. The difference between the PS1 and PS2 version is so good, it became ore realistic and it contained so many levels. We would love to see it in the PS4 just to relive our childhood days.
WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain
Before WWE made their own games, THQ published the SmackDown! series. Brock Lesnar was found on the cover of the title and with him being the champion, it’s very fitting to re-release the game title on the PS4.
During those days, Here Comes the Pain had one of the best and most realistic career modes in a WWE game. The graphics may not be as good as the current WWE titles, but the experience is so good that we need to feel it again.
Medal of Honor: Frontline
Remember when first person shooters were set during the World War 2 and not in some futuristic bullcrap? Back in the days, Call of Duty and Battlefield had no match for Medal of Honor. It’s arguably the best console entry to the series.
Medal of Honor: Frontline was released back in 2002, multiplayer mode was not popular back then and it was that time when split-screen was an actual hit. The campaign game mode was really extensive and addicting that you’ll surely play it over and over just to get the highest medal.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
In my opinion the best game ever on the PlayStation 2. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has always aspired to be more than just an action adventure game, and it delivered. The series is one of the reasons why video game titles nowadays came to be.
Snake Eater has been my favorite storyline of any game that I have played. It takes the quality gameplay from the second game and vastly improves it. The gameplay is one of the best ever, if not the best. If we can’t have a remastered version of this gem, I’m pretty sure there will be a riot in the future.
And that’s about it. How about you? What are some beloved classics on the PS2 that you’d like to see make an appearance on the PS4 or PS4 Pro? Sound off in the comments section below.
