In case you missed it, Star Wars Battlefront 2 has been made official. And the next installment of EA’s intergalactic multiplayer shooter looks very promising in many ways.
If you’re excited (like we are) to get into some exciting futuristic battles with light sabers and guns, here are the details we know about the game(so far):
Proper Story Mode
One of the biggest down-side of the previous Star Wars Battlefront was its lack of a good story mode. The developers, DICE, heard to screams of the community and they are doing things right.
Battlefront 2’s single-player campaign takes you to the footsteps of Iden Version, commander of an Imperial special forces squad who’s out to avenge the Empire following the events that occurred in Return of the Jedi. The game will also let you take control of other famous characters like Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren occasionally.
Unlike the constricted world of Battlefront 1 wherein it was only limited to the original trilogy, the next installment promises to include all eras of Star Wars. Playable characters include Darth Maul, Yoda, Kylo Ren, Rey, and Luke Skywalker. You’ll also be able to play in locations like Hoth, Tatooine and the Starkiller Base just like the movies.
Battlefront 2 is now class-based. That means you’ll get the freedom to enhance your player and specialize in things like heavy weapons or sniping. There will also be a lot of customization for players, you’ll be able to play around and upgrade your troopers, hero characters and even spaceships. Also, EA promised that the space combat will play a much larger role in the game with 24-player dogfights.
Battlefront 2 is set to hit the stores on Nov. 17 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. There are also rumors that they will also have an enhanced version for Microsoft’s upcoming Project Scorpio console which also means that we may also have it in the PS4 Pro. You’ll have a choice to pick up the Battlefront 2’s Elite Tropper Deluxe Edition for $79 if you want to play the game a few days earlier than the official release.
