The future is bright. And appetizing.
Last Wednesday, a collaboration between a Denver-based bakery and Texas-based company Drone Dispatch delivered some fresh donuts to the Denver city officials with the use of a drone. The drone delivered some tasty donuts to policemen, firefighters, and of course, the mayor of Denver, Michael Hancock.
Hancock was very impressed, saying, “This is how we’re going to become a more efficient 21st century nation, society quite frankly.”
Due to the Federal Aviation Administrations regulations mandating that operators be within sight of the drone, the flying machines could only be flown short distances. Because of this, the operators were all within a block of police, mayor, etc when they delivered the meal. This sounds uncool but why bother walking a block when you can make a drone do it in the first place, right? It’s still efficient.
