Finally, a remastered game that we all wanted.

Released almost 2 decades ago, Age of Empires was a game that had a ton of potential and a gameplay that remains entertaining enough to overcome the test of time. And Microsoft knows this, that’s why the company just announced the resurrection of the original Age of Empires: Definitive Edition.

This remastered edition will see the first game in the franchise brought back from the dead in 4K, 20 years after its release. They also added an “entirely re-orchestrated soundtrack, brand-new narrative, major gameplay improvements, Xbox Live support for multiplayer, and of course, achievements.”

There’s no official release date and price for the game, but it has noted that you’ll only be able to buy the game from the Windows Store. They’ll open up a closed beta soon and you go ahead and sign up if you want to play the game before the official release.
