Australian breakfast and dessert café Gelaré at Uptown Mall will change the way you look at ice cream. Forget the ones in the tub and get yourself a cup of Gelaré’s ice creams. After walking around BGC for quite some time before we got here, one serving of their ice cream had our day made in an instant.
The ice cream at this café is made without air, making it more dense and flavorful than commercial ice cream. Since it’s a lot creamier and richer than regular gelato, Gelaré’s ice cream flavors are served a little warmer. The perfect temperature enhances the true flavor, plus it allows for better scooping!
Another really good thing about their ice cream selection is that some of them are vegan and halal certified so there are plenty of options for everyone! You can even throw in some additional toppings and mix-ins to make your ice cream one of a kind.
Because of this unique blend, Gelaré’s ice creams can be scooped on top of breakfast waffles and you don’t have to worry about it melting down too fast. We personally think that their waffles were made just for their ice cream because the combination on this platter is just something else.
Gelaré is also a breakfast place, serving all-day breakfast meals like the classic Eggs Benedict and a protein-packed super breakfast platter like this one.
I don’t know about the maple syrup bottles we have here, but the maple syrup in Gelaré is the bomb. We poured it over our bacon, sausage, waffles, and hash browns like crazy people. We were not disappointed.
For refreshers, we tried their milkshake and the Australian classic lemon lime bitters. The milkshake is made out of Gelaré’s famous ice cream flavors and some fresh fruit making it creamy and luxurious, without watering down at all.
The classic Australian Lemon Lime Bitters is a refreshing drink perfect for when you’re strolling around Uptown Mall or walking under the sun with that Manila heat.
