So far, a huge bulk of The Walking Dead games lend to a collective sense of heightened interactivity. Though not entirely new, TellTale’s series of craft-your-own-story, episodic video game hit paved the way for the ever-expanding franchise.

Next Games aims to take this up a notch. They just announced an augmented reality-based mobile game based on Robert Kirkman’s hit AMC series, The Walking Dead. The game is called The Walking Dead: Our World and it will feature the same ragtag crew of survivors we loved in the television series, including Rick Grimes and Daryl Dixon. It is set for release on both iOS and Android devices.

What’s up in the air—for now—is how its augmented reality (A.R.) components will come into play. The previous games relied heavily on storytelling and based on the trailer, that might not be the case as this new one looks to lend itself to plenty of combat.

Perhaps the biggest A.R. mobile game at the moment, Pokemon Go makes a lot of sense. You go out to the world, collect Pokemon, earn gym badges, and become—maybe, just maybe—the very best like no one ever was.

How The Walking Dead: Our World will take advantage of the technology is as yet unknown. That doesn’t mean people aren’t excited or at the very least curious. Including, uh, me.
