Ed Sheeran to Appear on Game of Thrones Because Why Not?

We all know that Ed Sheeran is currently dominating the music industry with his newly released album “Divide”. But is there any more that he can do to boost his fame? There is. And that’s to appear as guest star in one of the most popular TV series of HBO, Game of Thrones.

The show’s creators, David Benioff and DB Weiss, revealed Sheeran’s involvement during an event at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.

Sheeran seemed to confirm the news by posting a link on Twitter to a news story about his casting, and tweeting: “Guess the cat’s out of the bag…”

Speaking at a panel discussion, Benioff and Weiss said they had been pursuing Sheeran for some time because Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams was a fan.

“For years, we tried to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie, and this year we finally did it,” Benioff stated.

Although that’s the only information right now, and the role of Sheeran on the show has not yet been disclosed.
