Best Lip Balms for Summer in the Philippines

The summer heat in the Philippines this 2017 is just too much. It seems as though we shouldn’t be leaving the house without sunblock and 7 layers of lip balm! Well fear not, go conquer the dry summer heat with my favorite balms from three different price points:

While I was abroad, I instantly fell in love with the Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips. Because of the dry climate out there, my lips started to crack and bleed and the only thing that saved them was this lip balm. They even helped with my cracked nail beds!

The only thing is that this balm is not readily available in Manila. Not sure what I’ll do the moment I finish my mini tub so that’s that. But I do know some amazing lip balms you can easily find in online shops and maybe even in your nearest convenience store.

Cheap

Vaseline Lip Therapy Advanced Formula (P75)

I don’t know about you guys, but the recycled air in the airplane really dries my lips out. Before I discovered the Vaseline Rosy Lips, this was my go-to lip balm when travelling. It instantly removes that dry and flaky feeling, it’s easy to carry, and it’s cheap.

Don’t confuse this with the Vaseline Lip Essence in Cherry. While I liked that formula too it tasted a lot like paper.

I found these in the beauty section of the SM Department Store, and Watsons.

Still Affordable

Carmex Strawberry Click Stick with SPF 15 (P139)

Carmex is a classic favorite! It just doesn’t disappoint when it comes to lip moisturizing formulas. The flavors are great too and it’s hard to stop thinking you can eat them. This lip balm doesn’t have that really strange glossy lip look from the 90’s either, not that I have anything against that haha!

There are some Carmex products in SM too and in Watsons, as far as I remember.

Splurge

Acclaimed Smith’s Rosebud Salve (P825)

I first encountered this lip balm while I was browsing in Iora. I thought they were too expensive and thought they’re just normal lip balms in fancy tins. I saw them again abroad and the salesperson spoke so highly of them I just couldn’t help not trying it out.

After a few hours, my nail beds did not feel painful and dry anymore. And I was pleasantly surprised they didn’t crack any further for the rest of the day! It’s a lifesaver.

This is a great multipurpose product and I think they’ll last a while too. I might just go to Iora soon to purchase this when my Vaseline Rosy Lips runs out.

  • […] Dry and flaky lips often end up cracking and bleeding. Worst feeling ever! Save your lips from that by getting a really good lip balm. Some lip balms are actually just glossy balms and don’t really do anything to hydrate your lips. I use the Vaseline Rosy Lips Lip Therapy because they leave my lips feeling smooth and plump. But since it’s not readily availably in stores here in the Philippines (why!!), check out my favorite ones! […]
