TeenVogue finally revealed why Jaden Smith was seen in the Met Gala holding his cut dreadlocks in his hands. The 18-year-old is known for his cryptic and somewhat philosophical tweets that Buzzfeed even wrote an article about them. I mean, it’s not everyday you see a person tweeting with every starting letter capitalized. The only son of famous actor Will Smith is also often seen challenging societal norms like a revolutionary, wearing skirts and dresses out and about.
This time in the recent Met Gala, Jaden was seen with his dreadlocks in hand as if he took this bundle to the event as his date. That’s aside from his all-black Louis Vuitton womenswear (from the 2017 fall collection by the way) and grilled teeth. Kind of strange, but also very eye-catching. According to Vogue, Jaden brought his hair because he couldn’t bring his sister with him to the red carpet event. In his words from Vogue’s interview, “Since I couldn’t bring my sister as a date, I brought my old hair.” Thanks, Vogue, for finally telling us what went inside Jaden’s mind. TeenVogue also revealed that this drastic haircut was made for his “Life in a Year” project starring himself and Cara Delevigne.
He really held on to them the whole event, huh?
