If you only have one room for a cute, heart-warming video today, make it this heart-rending performance by Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande of Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. During her One Love benefit concert for the Manchester bombing victims, Ariana starts the song with an unmistakable frailty in her voice, something that her friend Miley immediately picks up and takes over for her, lending the whole performance a warm, vibrant energy. Watch it below.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the two performed the song. Last time, it was in a more intimate setting and doubtless an unsuspecting vibe. Singing for Miley’s side-project, Happy Hippie, Ariana had made with Miley an endearing rendition of the song. Listen to it here.
Indeed, the circumstances are horrible and daunting just to think about. But perhaps, like the message the song speaks of, it’s important to remember that hate can’t divide hate. Only love can do that.
