This Island in the Philippines was Just Named the Best Island in the World

Travel + Leisure just revealed where the best island in the world is. Yep, it’s in the Philippines. From T + L’s annual World’s Best Awards survey, the place that ranked first in the Best Islands list with a total score of 93.15 is Palawan, Philippines. This is Palawan’s second year in a row and its third time as the top island to visit here on Earth.

Palawan was ranked first because of its stunning landscape, hidden lagoons, vast wildlife, and top notch resorts. Remember that lagoon you had to lie down to be able to squeeze through its entrance? That’s the Twin Lagoon in Coron, Palawan.

You can see and experience everything in Palawan. This island is home to tall limestone cliffs and the world’s second-largest contiguous coral reef system. You can also head over to Puerto Princesa to see magnificent sculptures of nature in the Subterranean River National Park, one of the New7Wonders of Nature.

Boracay Island was also included in the list, taking the second spot just right next to Palawan. Cebu ranks sixth in the list beside Mauwi, Hawii (7th) and Santorini in Greece (5th).

Still not impressed? Just take a look at this Palawan vlog that has over 2.1M views!

Loves the sunrise but wakes up late. Also uses too many adjectives.
