From an announcement made during the San Diego Comic Con, Yen Press is set to relaunch the iconic graphic novel and series W.I.T.C.H. this Fall 2017. Yeah, we’re pretty sure you grew up reading this too. W.I.T.C.H. was originally published back in 2001 by Disney Publishing and Digital Media all the way in Italy. While the series was first created and released in Italian, it soon gained fame and was translated in English for its international release.
This Fall, we’re finally going to be reunited with our five favorite girls – Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin, along with their magical and curious friends like Elyon and Caleb. Although I personally really miss Caleb and his relationship with Cornelia. If you’re not familiar with the story, these girls are the so-called Guardians of Candracar who are chosen in order to protect the peace and harmony within the universe.
Yen Press LLC is planning to release JY, “a new imprint focused on middle grade graphic novels,” according to a recent article by Publishers Weekly. Included in the JY list of releases is the W.I.T.C.H. series that is also set to have new translations to all the episodes in the series that were never released in English.
“JY will publish 12 W.I.T.C.H. titles with plans to release the series’ first three-book story arc, The Twelve Portals, all at once, beginning in the fall. Going forward with the W.I.T.C.H. series, JY plans to release three volumes at a time, every four months.” – Publishers Weekly
